The aim of this study is to design a strategy to implement a sustainable urban drainage chain (SUDS) in an urban centre in the region of Murcia affected by DANA storms (Isolated Depression at High Levels). The results of this project can serve as a reference for the rest of the municipalities of the Mar Menor.

Analysis and mapping of the effects of the September flood in certain affected urban centres, as well as the behaviour of public spaces in said floods: Torre Pacheco, San Pedro, San Javier, Los Alcázares and Los Urrutias, including the urban centres of the affected districts.
List of nature-based solutions for urban public spaces, which have been demonstrated to work properly against flooding.
Creation of a guide or manual of good practice in the design of free urban spaces, through the use of nature-based solutions, which improve the behaviour of such spaces against floods.
Design or pilot project to implement nature-based solutions in the public space of the urban centre of San Javier. The urban area will be determined from the study itself. The work will be carried out in collaboration with the Town Hall.
