Method:

The aim of GoGreenRoutes is to position European cities as global ambassadors for urban sustainability. The objective is to change the focus of NbS (Nature-based Solutions) towards the co-benefits of multidimensional health, called 360-Health. A solution to maintain and elevate urban sustainability and improve both the human and natural environment.

GoGreenRoutes brings together international partners from 18 different countries, including: Ireland (coordinators), Spain, Germany, U.K., Netherlands, France, Sweden, Estonia, Austria, Italy, Finland, Bulgaria, Denmark, Georgia, China, as well as others. GOGREEN ROUTES is made up of a high-capacity consortium (27% SMEs, 41% research, 12% civil society, 20% cities), with a track record in NbS and related projects that will optimise social and environmental development and the economic impacts of this project to transform cities into more sustainable, resilient and habitable places.

Interactions between nature and humankind in natural spaces, backed by digital and technological innovation, are encouraged in order to promote physical activity, optimise connectivity to public places and adopt sustainable lifestyle behaviours with benefits for the environment and human health. Urban green routes are co-implemented, which function as interactive and multifunctional spaces, interconnected public spaces to resolve environmental problems with benefits for physical health, mental health and psychological well-being, including the use of restorative natural spaces to promote psychological recovery and sustainable lifestyles.
