Subsidies aimed at local entities to promote and support adaptation to climate change in urban and peri-urban areas (PIMA Climate Change).

Order of the Regional Minister for Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, the Environment and Emergencies

The Public Administration has created the PIMA to encourage cooperation within the framework of the Environmental Recovery Plans (PIMA), and to facilitate the development of the objectives established in the Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition Law and in the National Adaptation and the Environmental Recovery Plan. The PIMA Climate Change Plan is aimed at interventions in municipalities, specifically in urban and peri-urban areas, and focuses on carrying out innovative pilot interventions in the area of climate change. To this end, the PIMA Climate Change Plan designs a collaboration model based on transferring funds to Autonomous Communities, which undertake to manage and distribute it among the municipalities in their territory.
In this context, on 27 October 2020, the Council of Ministers approved the Agreement providing for the definitive territorial distribution of the budget appropriations agreed at the Sectoral Conference on the Environment for PIMA Climate Change.
In accordance with all of the above, given the need to promote and support innovative pilot actions referred to in the PIMA Climate Change programme in the face of the situation of environmental emergency, it is appropriate to launch a call for proposals that sets out the objectives and defines the eligibility criteria.
